Naked Lunch 30 Years in Beyond Planets (Album Review of Beyond Planets)

Image
It's always a pleasure to receive music for radioplay.  When you get this kind of work, it's like, oooo, I have the album. This album embodies 30 years of work. The band have released singles in the past, but prefered not to  releasing anything.  How wrong their were.  Even Tony the singer realised this as he mentioned in the first interview i did with him and Jet on the radio The combination of re recorded classics, blowing the dust of lyrics, unfinished demos and brand new recordings, comes the long awaited electro album, that's looooong overdue I was suprised how well the rerecordings turned out, especially Rabies, which already has two versions The re recording are, La Femme, Rabies, Fade Away, Weekend, Behaviour and Slipping Again. The new songs are, Alone, Glow, We Are, Emotion Terminal( Quiet apt that one i should think), No two ways about it, this is a huge undertaking, even by this legendary bands standards. Bringing them up to date with new recordin

Phones

I never thought I would get another iPhone. The beginning I love Samsung phones and love the Galaxy note range. I had the note 1for some time and I was going to stick with it for a while. At work, I tether to my ipad2 to listen the radio station,  Jack Fm a well as Music World Radio. For some reason, I am unable to receive Jack on a general radio, which is rather odd . Over the last couple of weeks, it appears that I have been wearing down my phone.  The place where you insert the charger was not holding as firmly as it was. At first, I thought it was the charging point, then I saw that the phone shell had warn down. First time I have ever had that problem.  I was going to get another, Samsung, phone.  Adding to that fact that, the phone headphone jack has issues with sound, your easily look at half the cost of the phone to replace( Got mine from Ebay  for £200), it was best to get another phone. At first, I thought, either a Nexus phone or go with another Samsung. Then of course, I th

The Modern Music Smoke screen

Over the last 5 years of radio broadcasting, i have had the pleasure of hearing so much talent, its remarkable. Not everything is good music, some bland, rubbish, even i have my limitations. Saying that, its rare i reject anything. My music mind is very broad, sometimes it takes a while to like a song, sometimes all it takes is 20 seconds I just think, the way musicians are treated on this planet is appalling. Not everyone has the gift to write music or perform it or both, which many think is the case. No harm in trying an instrument, but there is a level you get to when someone is recognised by many as an artist, it becomes a different story.  I know not everyone can play guitar, write, read, compose music.  The people that write music deserve more respect, than someone who has a good looking face on stage, who can't sing a note. From experience in seeing bands perform and performing in front of people myself, it is not easy. It takes practice to learn. Creating music is a craft

Electro act, from the 80s, Naked Lunch, mainly known for their tune, Rabies, which was banned at the time, which spawed two versions and a B side, Slipping Again. We will no doubt, be playing many if not all of the album songs To find more, listen in to the show, live broadcast on Monday 8-10pm English time                                               Website       Facebook     Single and Album releases                                      Music World Radio         Radio Varie

This is getting excisting The next event has a band i have seen and had on the radio before and one band i have had an ep from in 2013, but never met This is the line up for February 28th 2014 Masiro ,  A fusion of Instrumental Jazz Rock. From Oxford, but drummer from Banbury. I wondered who they were, then i read their press release and realise the drummer is from the instrumental metal band, Dr Slabbleberry.   Youtube Punch Drunk Monkey Club i have met a few times, as Joe the bass player, is Chris Oakes son.  Be the third time i have seen the band perform BLood Red Stars   Have a Cocteau twins style to their sound. Never met the band before, but from the music i have heard, i like them already The Shapes   Like the sound of the band, Dodgy, then you will like these guys. Got a very happy poppy, enjoyable sound. Can't wait to see the band live The entire event will be broadcast live on  Music World Radio  and includes inbetween band DJ work by Screaming J Hawkins. I w

Not many bands record albums, especially unsigned and self financed, mainly eps or singles. Funk Rockers from Atlanta, Georgia, 68 75,have done just that. Their new album, Stay on the Ride, is a testament to their writing, will power, great music, guitar work by Andrew and the powerful vocal range by Suzanne Sledge and the sounds they reflect from 1968 - 1975 Stay on the Ride is their brand new album Their album is flying off the vertual shelves, which is not suprising. Very catch, really does reflect the era of music they love.  I told them once that i had not long seen the film ,Devils Rejects. The film has a 70's progressive rock sound track and i can imagine the band music on the film, would fit a film perfectly The music is that good, and again. the loud powerful vocals of Suzy, ripps through your soul like a hurricane. Probablythe most power vocalist i have heard in this style for some years. I can't praise this band highly enough for their work. Their past t
